First Harvey, then Irma! Hurricane Harvey ripped through Texas on Friday, August 25, 2017. Hurricane Harvey was a Category 4 storm. The storm destroyed homes and stores. There was so much flooding, that it was necessary to open the dam and controllably release water into the city. The damages will cost billions of dollars and, after that, another huge hurricane came in.
Hurricane Irma has ripped right through the Caribbean and is has now gone right through Florida. It caused flooding and huge amounts of damage. The storm surge was almost 15ft high. Houses were almost completely submerged in water from the storm surge. The storm mostly hit the west side of Florida. Naples was right in the eye of the storm. Even though Walt Disney World is on the east side, it had shut down for only the 6th time in its 45-year history for Hurricane Irma. After the storm, parts of the resort remained closed but some opened. Now, all parts of Disney are opened. After Irma, meteorologists spotted a new hurricane named Hurricane Jose.
Hurricane Jose’s path was predicted to go right through Florida and the Caribbean. The path changed and stayed in the ocean. It caused tropical storms in the Caribbean. New England got rain and thunderstorms.
Now, after all THAT, hurricane MARIA has been spotted. Hurricane Maria is predicted to tear right through Puerto Rico, even after all the damage it has taken from all the other hurricanes. After Hurricane Irma and Maria, will parts of the Caribbean be completely under water?
