This year's Drama Club is definitely going to be the most difficult show. We will be performing Beauty and the Beast!!! I will have first-hand knowledge of this, as I am playing Beast in this story about an arrogant young prince and his castle's servants falling under the spell of a wicked enchantress. The enchantress transforms him into the hideous Beast until he learns to love and be loved in return. The spirited, headstrong village girl, Belle, enters the Beast's castle after he imprisons her father, Maurice. With the help of his enchanted servants, Belle begins to draw the cold-hearted Beast out of his isolation.
This year is especially hard because the drama club has been upgrading the sound system and is replacing the light board. The drama club needs help to make this the best show that they have done. We also have another problem. Our main director, sadly, has stage 2 breast cancer. Now because of this challenge, she won’t be able to join us for most of the practices. The entire Drama Club is trying to find ways to make this one of the best shows that Drama has ever done, in honor of our director.
On Friday, April 13 from 6:30-8:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 14 from 2:00-3:30 p.m., Chichester Central School’s Drama Club will be performing this year’s play. Tickets are $5 and there are popcorn, baked good and pictures for sale. The ticket money helps make it possible for drama club to keep these amazing performances coming year after year.
