Twas the Night Before Christmas

     Have you ever been interested in joining student council? Well now is the
time! There are so many schools around NH that have student-council programs.
There is also a student council program here at CCS. We are already planning

for this upcoming year. On November 13th Student Council created handmade ornaments to decorate a 10-foot tree that will be donated to Bektash Temple’s Christmas Raffle, which is a community fund-raiser. Food, friends and festivities made for a successful day of decorating!

Student council is so much fun, we like to help people around the community that are in need. Every year we decorate a tree for the festival of trees. One year we did Christmas on the farm. Another year we did a tribute to someone that we lost right around Christmas time that was well known and loved throughout the community so that was really important to us. There are so many other things that we do throughout the year like, spirit week, hat days, pajama days, and much more. Our meeting are on Mondays at lunch. BUT NOT REALLY...

Oh, hey guys!  I didn’t see you there! I am an experienced Drama student, so I wanted to talk to you about Drama Club. You may not know that Drama Club starts every year in the month of January. Usually, we have many practices before we hold tryouts to decide which student will play each role. 

 After that we have a couple of practices. We usually hold tryouts. Once everyone has a role, we get started right away with choreography. We then start practicing the play.  Mrs. Douglas and Mrs. Mara are the directors/choreographers/costume makers. Oh, and also the best people in the world! 

We’ve performed “Beauty and the Beast”, “Shrek”, “Aladdin” and “Lion King” among many others over the years. 

Drama Club is fantastic, but it does demand a lot of time. You may have to balance Drama Club with your other activities. If you want to have an amazing time and grow like never before, keep your eyes open for Drama Club in January. I’ll see you there!
